SSOW Ceilidh in downtown Wilmington! Friday, May 7 @ 6:30 pm / Beam Room at Front Street Brewery A Scottish ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is an informal social affair and can be comprised of music, dancing, storytelling and general merriment. Our ceilidh will feature the Celtic band Out On the Ocean plus music from the Port City Pipes & Drums, as well as performances by talented SSOW members. The general public is cordially invited to attend (tickets $5 per person). Proceeds from this event will help fund a scholarship for a deserving bagpiper (to be awarded by the SSOW). Kirkin' O' The Tartans The SSOW and the First Presbyterian Church of Wilmington invite you to attend this service in remembrance of the rich and devout heritage of the Scottish Reformation. St. Andrews Day & SSOW Annual Meeting We celebrate the patron saint of Scotland with a home-cooked, potluck supper and our annual member's meeting. January, 2011 ............................................................... Robert Burns Supper & Celebration Bagpipers, kilts, great food, scotch whisky tastings, live music, and haggis make up this unique tribute to the noble bard of Scotland. Commemoration of the Battle at Moore's Creek Bridge Re-enactments, musket & cannon firings, music, and more are all a part of this important historic weekend just 25 miles from Wilmington.
