Cape Fear Scottish Immigration Memorial
A project begun by The Scottish Society of Wilmington, now a separate 501(c)3 organization, to build a memorial to the 20-70,000 Scottish immigrants who arrived in the Lower Cape Fear in the 1700s. The Memorial will be located at Brunswick Town State Historic Site, the actual ground upon which our Scottish ancestors first set foot in a new world. It will be the beginning of the North Carolina Scottish Trek, tracing their route to central North Carolina and up into the mountains.
