Hello, friends! There is a lot happening in our Scottish community this season, and we would love to see you at as many events as you can join. Here is what is on the calendar, starting with a special program just around the corner.

A People Divided: Revolution and Conflict in Southeastern NC, 1763–1790
A Sister Cities Special Program with Guest Lecturer David Houpt
SSOW is an affiliate member of the Sister Cities Association of Wilmington, and we are delighted to share their next community program for the America250 anniversary. Historian David Houpt will tell the story of the English and Scottish ancestors who settled in Southeastern NC and how these settlers dealt with the conflicts around the Revolutionary War. All are welcome!

Stone Mountain Highland Games Stone Mountain, GA. Several SSOW board members will be attending. Look for us at the Scottish Heritage USA tent!

American-Scottish Foundation Wallace Award Dinner New York City. SSOW President, Catherine Fort, will be attending as SHUSA’s president, Peter Wilson, is honored for his service to the Scottish American community.

Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans SSOW members take part in First Presbyterian Church’s annual Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans service.

Flavors of Scotland: Whisky, Wine, Fare & Cèilidh Scottish Heritage USA hosts this fundraiser for SHUSA and the Scottish Heritage Discovery Center at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst.

St. Andrew’s Day Potluck Dinner & Annual General Meeting Join your fellow members for our annual St. Andrew’s Day celebration and the SSOW Annual General Meeting.

24th Annual Scottish North American Community Conference Alexandria, Virginia. SSOW will be represented at this annual gathering of the Scottish American community, organized by the American-Scottish Foundation, Chicago Scots, the Council of Scottish Clans and Associations (COSCA), St. Andrew’s Society of Detroit, Scottish Heritage USA, St. Andrew’s Society of Los Angeles, and the Scottish American Women’s Society. This year’s theme is “Expanding the Conversation – Collaborating for the Future,” with a closer look at how Scotland’s living traditions are carried on in North America and adapting to a changing world.

54th Annual Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk Parade Alexandria, Virginia. Members of SSOW will be marching in the parade!

“A Celtic Christmas with Highland Echoes” Highland Echoes is bringing their show to Wilmington again this year! The Wilmington show will feature music only and is the kick-off for the 2026 tour. SSOW is proud to be a sponsor. Tickets are on sale now.

34th Annual Robert Burns Supper Hotel Ballast, Wilmington. Join us for the tradition of a Burns Supper as we honor Scotland’s National Bard with Burns’ poems and music, toasts and the Address to the Haggis. Tickets will be available after November 22, 2026.
